Supporting people in poverty and social exclusion across Spain through the Catholic Church's charitable network.

Cáritas Española is the official charitable and social-action body of the Catholic Church in Spain, headquartered in Madrid and registered with the Ministry of Justice's Registry of Religious Entities. It coordinates a confederation of diocesan and parish Cáritas organisations that assist people experiencing poverty, homelessness, unemployment and social exclusion. Its programmes include emergency aid, employment and training initiatives, housing support and services for migrants, older people and other vulnerable groups. The organisation works through a large base of volunteers alongside professional staff, and channels its activity through local communities across the country. Rooted in Catholic social teaching, it also carries out advocacy on poverty and inequality and runs awareness campaigns. It publishes annual reports on its programmes and use of funds, and participates in the wider international Caritas network.
