Fondazione Telethon

Fondazione Telethon ETS is an Italian foundation, with offices in Rome and Milan, dedicated to advancing biomedical research into rare genetic diseases. It raises funds and channels them to selected researchers and institutes working on the causes, diagnosis and treatment of inherited conditions, with a particular focus on developing gene and cell therapies. Over the years it has backed research that has contributed to approved treatments for rare disorders. The foundation is best known for its long-running national fundraising campaigns that combine media events with scientific communication. Beyond financing laboratories, it operates its own research institutes and supports patients and families affected by rare diseases. It is registered as a third-sector entity in the national RUNTS register and reports publicly on how donations are allocated to research.
