Children & YouthCare & Social SupportInternational Aid

Providing family-based care and support for children who have lost or risk losing parental care worldwide.

SOS Children's Villages International, based in Vienna, is the umbrella organisation of the global SOS Children's Villages federation. It supports children and young people who have lost parental care or are at risk of losing it, offering family-strengthening programmes and family-like care environments in place of institutional settings. The federation operates children's villages, education and health services and emergency responses in a large number of countries. As the coordinating body, the international office sets standards, supports national member associations and represents the movement in advocacy for children's rights. Its work combines direct care with programmes that help families stay together and prevent children from being separated from their parents. The organisation is financed through donations, sponsorships and grants, and publishes information about its governance and activities.
